WHO: ALL SAW MEMBERS
WHAT: Notification/ FAQs/ player pool list NEW PROTOCOL
Due to members’ confusion regarding time and place of games as well as type of games, it has been suggested that the text/call list for these things be amended. As of now, we have no efficient way of notifying players of scheduled or unscheduled games. So for the meantime please write down below your name and current phone numbers for the games you’re interested in. This is a trial run which will be evaluated by the board to finalize. The point is simply that SAW is simply too big to easily arrange games and notify interested players. We’ve had many instances where senior members were asked by new recruits about certain games and both parties were confused and disappointed. These lists will eventually yield a “core” group which will become the source for training and support because mindset, gameplay, positioning, of speedball and milsim for example are vastly different. This is why we need to identify who’s interested in what. Please bear with the new protocol, we are only interested in making airsoft convenient and fun for you. The Officers-In-Charge will be your go to persons for organizing and notifying players of games. Core groups will then be secondary sources of info and support the OICs.
So for now, please direct your questions about SPEEDBALL games to Ondoy Calimbayan who can be reached by text or call at 09228788357.
PISTOL FIGHT will be handled by Simon Yap who can be reached at 09239446392. If you can’t reach by call, please leave a text so we can reach you as soon as we are able.
MILSIM games will be arranged by Mikel Quintia who can be reached at 09228413042
Others like airsoft practical shooting will be discussed by the board and will not be official SAW business until a resolution.
Speedball is one of the two distinct game variants in the sport of airsoft. It is a general term for a game in which the playing field is composed of bunkers/barriers/obstacles, of roughly the same location and number on each side of the field, that provide an equal playing field for each team competing. It was created in this way to give a better format for competitive airsoft, both in playing and viewing the games.
MilSim is an abbreviation of Military Simulation, and refers to military simulations conducted by civilians for entertainment purposes. There are several forms of MilSim: airsoft games, paintball games, and video games simulating military scenarios and tactics. MilSim most often falls into two different categories: reenactment and simulation. Reenactments focus on a particular event in history and aim to provide the most accurate representation of the time period, events and outcomes of the historical event. Simulation however may only focus on a particular time period and representation of which course a particular situation may have taken in history. In most cases a simulation event includes fictitious characters, groups and political situations.
Pistol Fight is a sub variant of either Speedball or milSim but will only involve airsoft pistols. This will not include machine-pistols.
